Welcome to The Images & Genealogy Gallery

The Latin inscription around the Hilliard miniature painted when Francis Bacon was in his 18th year is Si tabula daretur digna animum mallem, Latin for "If one could but paint his mind".

It would be impossible to completely capture the essence of such an extraordinary man. However, pictorial representations can certainly provide an insight into someone who Ben Jonson described as "One of the greatest men, and most worthy of admiration".

It is our hope to compile a comprehensive collection of images of and relating to Francis Bacon.
