The Society was recently contacted by the Brazilian Producer of Origens, a non-profit documentary series on science and education broadcast across eight South American countries through Novo Tempo Channel, reaching a potential audience of more than 180 million viewers.
In their upcoming 2026 season, Fathers of Science, they will explore the lives and legacies of thirteen great scientists and thinkers who helped shape modern science. Among them is Francis Bacon, whose philosophical influence remains a cornerstone in the history of scientific reasoning and the development of the empirical method.
The production team visited London to record an interview focusing on Bacon’s philosophy, intellectual impact, and ongoing relevance to contemporary science. Filming took place at sites associated with Francis Bacon, including Canonbury Tower, Gray’s Inn, The Royal Society, and the Senate House Library, where the Society’s library is housed.
Bacon’s fame will be spreading to a place where they already appear to have great reverence for him. Producer Alessandra Cristina Guimaraes thanked the Society saying, “Your Society’s dedication to preserving and promoting Bacon’s heritage has been an invaluable resource, and it would be an honour to share this legacy with our South American audience.”
